Chopper Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Popular Southern California Beach
A helicopter flying near a crowded California coastline suddenly commenced twirling wildly, eventually dropping height and plunging into a line of palm fronds as beachgoers looked on.
Videos posted on the internet capture the chopper starting to spin over the beach then descending in the direction of the border of the coast, where it ends up lodged amidst palms and a staircase adjacent to the shoreline route.
Emergency Response Information
Local firefighters stated five persons were taken to hospital including two individuals who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the incident on Saturday.
Three people on the road were hurt. Details on their injuries were still under review.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
